Primary goal of this project has been preparing urban living spaces with ample green and comfortable atmosphere within the urban context of Marunouchi District between Tokyo Station and the Imperial Place that requires authenticity and formality in its design expression. The following three landscape zones represent a comprehensive solution for this design issue. Green Corridor is a pedestrian promenade lined with evergreen trees and integrated into the network of walkways in the area. Urban Alcove is located at the cross point of two major pedestrian circulations and provides cozy settings for the people to stay and spend some time in the grove of deciduous trees. Sky Stage is an observation deck on top of the podium of the old post office structure that contains various spaces, varieties of green and attractive view points of old Tokyo Station building. Also, some elaborated detail design with highly sophisticated treatment of materials and their integration contributes to creating the space and the environment of grace and amenity.
